'NOT MUCH QUILTING TIME' SEASON

The Birthday/Thanksgiving/Christmas Season has taken over my life -- which is a good thing!  However, it hasn't left any time to quilt.  Here is my Dear Jeanne quilt that I was working on when I had to pack up the sewing mess to concentrate on other things.
So, all I have to offer on the blog for now is another "Blast from the Past".  Back in the early 1980s I taught a class on quilted Christmas gifts.  These Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Sam Christmas stockings were one of the things we worked on.
They are the only samples I've held onto from that class.  Don't know why as I've knitted Christmas stockings for all my family members.
Guess they will be for those future great-grandchildren!
I'm anxious for January so I can get back to whiling away my hours by working on my 'Dear Jeanne' quilt.
If I don't check back in the rest of December, have a joyful Christmas season.

I'm joining the following:
Freshly Pieced for WIP Wednesday
Sew Fresh Quilts for Let's Bee Social Wednesday

Your Dear Jeanne looks great. How lovely to have stockings to pass down as well. It occurred to me today that idea of less time to quilt soon, oh well, make the most of people and enjoy the times of quilting when they come. Thanks for showing us your progress.

Really like the details on the stockings. They will be special to someone someday.

The stockings are cute. I'd like to see pics of your knitted ones sometime. The holidays will be over before you know it so you'll be reunited w/your gorgeous Dear Jeanne in no time.

I love the embroidered details on your Sue and Sam stockings! And your quilt is gorgeous -- it will be nice to have that to look forward to once the holiday rush has subsided!
