THROWBACK THURSDAY

It's Throwback Thursday again on Quarter Inch from the Edge  -- time to dig out a quilt from the archives.

I made this quilt in 2004, and named it Xanadu.  It was made to include in my book, "Traditional Two Block Quilts".

It is 31" x 31", and machine pieced and hand quilted.
When I wrote the book, my editor asked that I include some pattern samples different from my usual palette and style of fabric.  This falls into that category -- I'm not the usual yellow/orange type and parrots are not my thing!

I've received lots of positive comments on this little quilt, so guess we will call it a success -- it's just not my favorite.

I love two-block quilts and the secondary design achieved. You added a lot of subtle detail to make this one really interesting. It's a winner in my book.

Love the fussy cutting you'd done with them. It's a pretty, tropical, kind of quilt.

It reminds me of Florida, this piece. Fun indeed.

I really like the colors and the name. Hand quilting a small quilt is on my 2016 to do list.

Who knew parrots could look so good in a quilt? :) You did a great job with the fussy cutting and I love the overall design of the quilt. I especially like that you hand quilted it. I really like the look of a quilt finished by hand.

Thanks so much for linking up to Main Crush Monday!
